A home of sunshine

Nat here.  I have so many lovely things to share with you from Margaret River!  It was a great trip, but finished so soon:(

After a week off work I was keen to get "back on track" with all things homely so we started the day with a walk down past the bridge..

And had breakfast at our favourite Kirribilli haunt, Cool Mac...although they didn't have the usual Sunday Toast like the pic below for husband, or the banana and rasperry banana bread which was his first choice.

On the way back I decided the front of the house needed a clean so gave it a good hose (no water restrictions here, I hope?).  Can you see the beautiful frangipani tree at the back there?  A and J bought us that as a thank you for their recent stay.  Isn't it beautiful! They also bought us that gorgeous little rosemary plant, it has made our house, a home!

I spent the next few hours at the hairdresser, a Kirribilli local, my first trip, I was nervous but I shouldn't have been!  Brilliant cut, great colour, nails done at the same time and all for a steal!  I can't advertise the name here as we all know what will happen...I'll never be able to get in again!

When I got back the husband was out so I decided to quickly whip up the banana bread he was so keen for this morning.  Banana with raspberry and macadamia.  He loved it!  I used this recipe but threw in a handful of raspberries and macadamias at the end.  Whoever said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach knew what they were talking about.

It works in reverse also..look what was hiding in the fruit I discovered later...that's right, the husband surprised me with the first Creme Egg's of the season!  Some people don't like that shops take advantage of Easter so early.  I am not one of those people.

After my quick bake I cleaned the house from top to bottom, the big, big clean, you know the one - kitchen, both showers, change of linens, and last but not least, all of THIS ironing...it took me hours, but it really is soothing like FF says....

Husband did all the floors, thank God for the cordless Dyson when you have three steep levels of stairs!  I finished up the spring clean with some roses, there is nothing better than fresh flowers to signify the end of a spring clean and they do not come cheaper than at the deli at Kirribilli!

I finished up with one last bake-off, macaroni beef, which is like lasagne, only better, and healthier...for lunches tomorrow and freezing for when we don't feel like making dinner...

Is there anything better than starting a week up-to-date on the home front?!  One last homely pic, look who was spoilt rotten by the W's...top row, second in from the right, love it!

 Happy New Week Sunshiner's!
