Galah's and things

Nat here.  Hope you had a great weekend.  We were at the Belgium Beer Cafe on Friday night for some friend's who are heading off to London. When did two drinks become $19 in Brisbane?!

Saturday I had afternoon tea with the girls from work at Forget Me Not Tearoom at Graceville.  I score it 10/10 for traditional high tea...

The sandwiches were dead set outrageously fresh.  Home made jams and delicious pastries.  I could have had an entire tier all to myself.  You wouldn't even know it was there from walking past so look it up!

On Saturday we hosted husband's family for a BBQ dinner which was lovely.  I tried out the date and rum cake on the front of the Donna a few issues ago.  It was delicious!! The only thing was I couldn't wait for my caramel sauce to set so it didn't look quite like the cover.  Brought Cayman memories flooding back, there is nothing better than a Tortuga Rum Cake!

Sunday I was in the cake mood again and had two overripe bananas so whipped up a banana cake.
Does anyone else find they use taste.com.au more than there 100 strong collection of expensive cook books? Me too.

Sunday we went to my downright favourite breakfast place - Hampton Living in Paddington.  Smashed avocado and goats cheese and rocket on ciabatta with a poached egg - yes please!

I have been eyeing off a galah pillow at Hampton Living for what seems like months...husband decided that it was enough time to wait and let me splash out on it (tres expensive but it is Made in Australia of course!)...

That's where I'll leave you - in galah goodness.  Happy Monday!!

  1. Wow Nat those cakes look amazing!!! As does that breakfast. Love the cushion - glad you bought it. $19 is outrageous for 2 drinks....remember dollar drinks on Thursdays? Much more reasonable, and you'd only need $20 including a cab home!
