Weekend Sunshine

Nat here.  The husband and I managed to cram a lot into our weekend! It does mean that unfortunately my ironing basket is sitting untouched.  Although, I'll blame the W's for that as we were face-timing last night with wine...there was no way I was going to iron after wine!

On Saturday we finished off our Christmas shopping, at half-time husband thought tea was in order.  Not just any old tea my friends..tea, at the tea room..

Look at all the goodness!  Shaanie, don't look at the fact that the gorgeous cardi in the picture is yours...I promise I'll return it...pinky promise!

Saturday night we thought we would try our new local bar - The Botanist at Kirribilli, it's just up the road and is uber trendy, so trendy in fact that we have avoided it until now.  The cocktails were de-licious..

And the snacks were outrageously good, particularly the chorizo and potato quesadilla!

After dinner we walked past Carols under the Bridge, which was lovely.

On our walk home we spotted the ferris wheel at Luna Park and decided to conquer my fear of heights.  It was great..apparently. I spent the whole time looking into husband's shoulder....

Apparently it looked something like this...

On Sunday we headed to Bronte for breakfast...and couldn't get a park.  Seriously - we couldn't get a park and gave up!  We ended up at Vaucluse where we went for a great walk.  Afterwards we decided we still wanted to go to the beach so went back north to Curl Curl...where you can park to go to the beach, not only can you park, it's FREE parking..., you have to PAY to go to the beach!! Sydney = ludicrous!

Happy Monday!

Happenings

Nat here.  We had Mum and the fam down last weekend so we HAD to take Mum to our fave breakie haunt at Balmoral....

Met M for a mid-week dinner at Ash St Cellar which was delish...

It was the husband's birthday on the 11th.  Yes he had two cupcakes for breakfast..followed by peanut butter toast with ice cream...!

We're still enjoying Kirribilli....

Husband's parents surprised him for his birthday and took us to Marque which was aca-mazing...reference to Pitch Perfect there...funny movie, hey Shaanie?

Strange event at Marque though...couple sitting next to us...man jumped up, yelled some bad language at his girlfriend and threw a full glass of water in her face!  She was saturated, had to tie her hair back and everything.  He stormed out and left her with the bill!  It was all very dramatic, and very Sydney.  People are so wound up in this town...

Meanwhile does everyone else know that sweet bread is the brain of an animal?  I did not my friend and so I ate it, but for the record, I did not like it. Everything else was de-licious.

The tree is up....

Ten more sleeps till Christmas....does anyone else think 2012 has been a sham? It was February seemingly two minutes ago....

Bar sunshine

A work event landed us at the Island Bar last week, which was great - look at that view!  Afterwards we had some drinks at the Opera Bar which was great and then, because one of the girls at work is super spesh we landed at the Ivy Pool Bar....

It was uber cool, far too much so for me.  I've never seen so many beautiful people in my life!

The Don

Nat here.  Gem and I are big fan's of Don...aka Donna Hay.  Gem have you seen her Christmas issue this year? It has redeemed herself of late I must say!  Do you like our little (very little) outdoor setting?  Ikea you never cease to amaze me with your low prices.

The lovely Shaanie proved just how special she was last week by sending me some "cheer-up" flowers...isn't she the loveliest?

The husband and I tried Felix the other night, one of Merivale's restaurants.  It was delish and such a great vibe.  Definitely recommend a visit!

Sydney touring sunshine

Nat here.  The husband and I did some Sydney touring on the weekend, we caught the ferry into Circular Quay ($22 later...seriously, how is that affordable public transport?!), visited to the Art Gallery and then went and had some drinks with L&J at Clovelly, look at the view from the Bowls Club...

We hope your neighbours are feeling a little more festive this morning L&J...sorry!!

Happy Weekend...the Christmas Tree is under construction woo hoo!!

Ikea Sunshine

Nat here.  So on Sunday afternoon is there anything better than whipping together a 23 page ikea wardrobe? I think not!  This was the start...look at all those tiny pieces in the bag!

This is the semi-finished product. I say semi as you can see the doors don't quite match-up but the husband was all ikea-d out and decided enough was enough.  He'll come back to it...never.

Meanwhile, how long do you think it will remain this neat?  I think we might need to add some colour to the husband's wardrobe stat!

Happy Monday!

More eating

Nat here.  We don't like a crowd so we headed to Bondi at 7am this morning to beat them!  I'm not convinced of all the hype, although this picture makes it look nice...

I've never seen so many posers in my life.  White Euro's? Really?!

We decided to splurge on a nice lunch at Garfish just around the corner.  The mahi mahi was delish...

As was the waffle with cookie dough ice-cream...

Hope you're out and about enjoying Sunday!  Have to run...we have a wardrobe to build.  Cue groans...

Eating, eating and gumtree sunshine

Nat here.  We're nearly at 5,000 views, shall we have a party? I think so.

Perhaps we should host it at Chiswick, Matt Moran's restaurant in Woollahra which was fabulous!  Matt was at our table...if we pushed a couple together.  It was great to catch up with G&T after their travels over shared lamb..

Have I shared our lovely gift that was sent from P & W? A little house warming, aren't they the sweetest? I'm whipping up those brownies today and I've already washed and ironed the gorgeous set of tea towels.  Does anyone else iron their tea towels? Or is it just me?

We have a few of our wares on Gumtree at the moment.  We put our outdoor setting on for $800 and someone offered us $200 - I told them where to jump. I've also put our dining table on, although in this picture it looks quite nice?  We think we are ready for real chairs now and benches might have had their day...

So out of about 6 items we've only sold one:( husband says we're not allowed to buy anything until they have sold.  So wise but so not fun.  J's being making me jealous with her trips to Ikea and the KAS factory outlet.  We really are terribly undercushioned...sorry FF.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all! I remember our thanksgiving dinner in Cayman with Shaanie and Gem and the gang...such fun!

Singapore, Sydney and Shaanie's Nails

Hello! So sorry for the long delay, we finally have internet set-up at home.  Not after one walk-out of Telstra in a huff, but two.  But that's a story for another day!

I've been to Singapore to see Shaanie!  We had such a fab time, doing lots of girlie things, like having our nails done...

Shaanie was outrageous and went for a colour on her nails, she was very hesitant but as the photos show, she loved it in the end...

We had massages, went to the movies (Pitch Perfect was aca-awesome!) and did lots of shopping.  We also went to a fab French restaurant for dinner, L'Entrecote.  Shaanie's husband (world's best husband #2) even carried our bags.  Such a good egg!

I had such a good time, and the ear infection on the flight which landed me in hospital didn't even dampen my high after spending the weekend with them!

The husband and I went to Coldplay at Allianz last night, it was aca-awesome...Chris did a little set right near us...

Today we have had the best Sunday EVA!  Soaking up Sydney, we started at Balmoral Beach for breakfast where I had the best corn fritters of my life and then had a few hours soaking up some Vitamin D which I'm clearly lacking at the moment....

I found a great store at Mosman called Mozi. I could have bought everything! I stopped at a tea-towel and a pink door stop, everyone needs one of those.

We finally came home to give the blog some love.  I'm sorry to our loyalists who have been missing the regular posts, particularly L!!

We're back! Shaanie is even going to do a post on a baby shower in Singapore which was ridiculously cute...hey Shaanie?!

Moving!

Nat here.  This will be us tomorrow - fingers crossed the teacups survived the journey!
