Sydney weekend

Nat here.  We had a great breakfast this morning with J & L at the grounds this morning...

I'm typing this on our new iPad and I can't seem to move the cursor down, sorry! The pics will follow.  Breakfast was lovely!  We also hit the homemaker centres for some new furniture.  We settled on a couch, two single chairs, hall stand, bedside tables, linens, coffee table, oh and a new iPad.  This little adventure to Sydney  is 'spensive (as FF would say). We're moving next weekend - yay!

Sydney Terrace Sunshine

Nat here.  I've always loved Terrace homes, they have such character.  A bit like Queenslander's, only older.  I'm super dooper excited...as now the husband and I live in one!

Here are some pics of our new Sydney abode...

So clearly that is not our furniture....I wish!!! The husband and I did a quick trip to Ikea today to try and replicate.  This is a pretty good imitation isn't it?

If anyone knows of a furniture store in Sydney where we can get other pretties please let me know!!

Sydney Noodle Market

Nat here.

We had our first visitor to Sydney last week, M!  We were very "Sydney" and went to the night noodle market which was in Hyde Park which coincides with the International Food Festival here in Sydney...there were hundreds of stalls, all packed with delicious foods - pork buns, duck pancakes, gyoza's...the choices were limitless!

It had such a great vibe...

Afterwards we all decided that dessert was in order.  The husband was in charge of "googling" and we were on our way.....about 25 minutes later we found ourselves at the other end of the earth (seemingly) at Passion Flower, where you're not allowed to add another waffle, in case you're wondering, as their register "doesn't have that button"...luckily M was only after one crepe...it was a long walk but it was worth it.

Does anyone have any tips for finding an apartment in Sydney without sending yourself insane? Please, do tell.

Lack of sunshine

Nat here. So sorry for the lack of sunshine lately! The big news is that the husband and I have moved to Sydney! It's been a whirlwind and although we have wireless we don't have internet access on the laptop to load any of my millions of photos!

Will try and post pictures of our Sydney noodle market photos, the breakfasts, dinners and everything in between very soon! Stay tuned!

Cake Pop Sunshine and mid-week dinners

Nat here.  The ever talented A made these cake pops from scratch for her gorgeous son Lewis.  It was his second birthday yesterday. How ridiculously cute?!  My favourite is the cookie monster..

I know, talented hey?! That's not marzipan icing, no-no, it is white chocolate and not only that, flavoured white chocolate, so the cookie monster blue is peanut butter flavoured.  I know, A should open a shop!!

The husband and I together with T and L tried out Aquitaine at River Quay Southbank last week, on a school night - talk about outrageous!

Entree was lovely, although my steak tartare was really tartare, with a raw egg....I could appreciate the flavours but probably wouldn't ever need to try it again.  L had the french onion soup, husband had escargot and said they were delicious.  T had the scallops which looked lovely.

For mains I probably failed in my ordering, one of my favourite dishes of all time is the beetroot risotto at Ecco, they had it on the menu and I jumped at it.  It wasn't the same....L and husband had the steak and said it was great, T went bouillabaisse, which we originally though was beef and red wine...woops! It was nice all the same.

Dessert was creme brulee for me - absolutely delish but not warm inside, fairly cold.  L and T shared the pear tarte tartin as did the husband which I wouldn't know about as husband isn't a sharer when it comes to dessert...

Overall, it was nice food.  We were there on 2nd night so they are probably still perfecting things.  The service was nice when it was there but we had to pour our own wine.  We didn't hear the fish of the day specials and we were seated with wine menus and not food.  Maybe that says something about us not them?!

The husband and I caught the city cat home...Bris Vegas is lovely at night...

Happy Tuesday!
